District
Commissioner's Notes
Spring has
finally sprung and I am please to say that our District is off
to a flying start, which I am sure you will be eager to read about
inside this bumper issue. This second newsletter is to update
you on events, the diary dates (I am aware of) and to let you
know what is happening round and about. Several Groups and Units
have been busy, helping HQ at Whips Cross with the national launch
of Scout Community Week, var-ious camps and a trip to Disneyland.
I am sure you would like to know how these went, so would I! Report
for the Newsletter please.
I am now formally the DC (I received my warrant card over Easter!)
with one more induction meeting to go in June. I have made a few
of Group visits and Alan Towler and I am currently working closely
with the 19th following the loss of their Beaver Leaders. By the
time you read this I will have just attended a GLNE DC weekend
conference. The ADC have had Section meetings and are planning
the District Diary. Im-mediately on the horizon is the District
Exec, Promise Renewal and the GSL meeting. In between I have attended
some of the District Section meetings, drafting the District Development
plan, talking to the Bor-ough and starting the AGM preparations.
Oh and we have received over 40 enquires to join. Busy times.
Finally the Census. One group has the dubious honour of being
the very last one in the UK to respond (or rather did not respond).
They will be first next time!!!!!!!!!!
Thats all from me for now.
