The Michael Mallinson Scout Centre has been refurbished and is situated on the edge of Epping Forest, in easy reach of Central London.
There are five acres of land used for camping and a further five acres of woodland with an adjacent ruby pitch for games.
Car parking is provided for campers and visitor’s cars are not to be parked on grassed areas.
The woodland is a designated local nature reserve and is also a site of special scientific interest.
A wide variety of trees and small wide life can be see, making it an ideal site for training and testing in all Cub, Brownie, Scout and Guide activities.
Opposite the main Camp Site is Highams Park Lake where our water activities centre is situated. Only the Centre's boats may be used on the water.
Gilwell Park can be reached from the Centre with a walk through the forest.

Special Needs facilities are available at the Scout Lodge and the Water Activity Centre

The site has its own small gift shop selling pencils, notepads, keyrings, badges and more. The will be opened on request.

The lodge and car park are accessed from The Charter Road (see Site Location). The building has facilities for pack holidays, Beaver sleepovers, training and school trips. It has four bunk rooms that sleep 36, a large hall with tables and chairs, fully equipped kitchen with a large gas cooker and oven separate fridges and freezers, microwave oven, all cutlery, crockery and utensils. 

Gas and electricity are included in the hire charge. Linen is not provided

There are several small patrol campsites, there are also sites for larger camps. Open fires are allowed on concrete bases but not in the woodland areas. There is a woodpile on site, any dead wood lying on the ground under arms width may be used.
Water is from a standpipe.
The felling of trees is not allowed.

Highams Park Station (BR) into London Liverpool Street Station is a short walk away. South Woodford and Woodford underground stations are also within walking distance.

Shops can be found near Highams Park Station including a supermarket and take away restaurants Major supermarkets are a short drive away.
